Counseling

- St. Catherine of Siena

“Be who God has created you to be, and you will set the world on fire”
It is the mission of the Counseling Department to assist each student in becoming morally grounded, academically competent, civically responsible, mentally and physically balanced, and personally and socially well-developed. This is achieved through a collaborative approach with school, family, and community members as well as programming that is developmentally appropriate, addressing students' unique academic, personal, social, and college/career readiness needs.
The Counseling Department is comprised of a blue & yellow class counselor, red & green class counselor, and college counselor. Counselors work with all students individually, in small groups, and in the classroom to support them in their academic, personal, social, emotional, career, and college growth during all four years at Mount de Sales Academy. Parents and Guardians are also welcome to meet with the counselors to support their daughter when needed.

School Counselors meet with their students in the fall to check in and in late winter to discuss course selection each year. Students are also welcome to request an appointment with their counselor as needed throughout the school year using the Counselor Appointment Request link below or on the Canvas Resources button. Please request appointment times that avoid missing tests and quizzes. Some reasons to request a meeting with your counselor are:

*Goal-setting
*Improving Grades
*Making or getting along with friends
*Career Exploration-individualized
*Personal events impacting you at school
*Managing emotions
*Getting involved at MDSA
*Test-taking, Time-Management, or Study Skills help
