  • 8th Grade Sailor Visits

    Sailor Visits for 8th graders are held in the fall each year.

    Registration is now open. Families will need to access their Sailor Portal admissions checklist to schedule a Sailor Visit.

    If you do not have a Sailor Portal account yet:
    1. Fill out an inquiry form. Once your inquiry has been processed, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access your Sailor Portal.

  • Discover the Arts - 10/7

    Discover the Arts at Mount de Sales! MDSA's Fine Arts teachers and students will lead visual arts, dance, theatre, instrumental and vocal activities in our Center for Performing Arts and Student Life. This free event is open to all middle school girls and no experience is necessary.

  • Sacred Heart Program Information Session - 10/13

    Join us virtually to learn about the Sacred Heart Program at Mount de Sales, a four-year academic intervention program offering direct instruction in executive function skills, testing and classroom accommodations and small group support, to students with professionally documented learning disabilities.

    We will provide information about the structure of the program, accommodations provided, and required application documents. Dedicated time for a Q&A will occur during the session. This event is open to all middle school families.

  • In-Person HSPT Prep Course - 10/25

    Mount de Sales will host an in-person, one-day HSPT prep course for 8th grade girls on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Click here for registration information.

  • Open House - 11/2

    We invite families with daughters in all grades to join us on Sunday, November 2, 2025 for our Open House. Click here for more information.

  • High School Placement Test - 11/15

    Mount de Sales will administer the High School Placement Test on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Click here to register.

    If you wish to test at Mount de Sales with accommodations, please contact Mattie Wood at mwood@mountdesales.org by Friday, October 31, 2025 with your accommodation request and documentation.     *Students enrolled in an Archdiocese of Baltimore elementary school will test at their current school during regular school hours. These students should not register to take the test at a high school.

  • Who can do a Sailor Visit?

    We offer Sailor Visits in the fall for eighth graders and in the spring for seventh graders. Fall Sailor Visits run three-four times per week from September - December.

  • How do I sign up?

    Families will need to access their Sailor Portal admissions checklist to schedule a Sailor Visit.

    If you do not have a Sailor Portal account yet:

  • How long is a Sailor Visit?

    The visit is from 8 a.m. - 2:15 p.m.

  • What do I wear?

    Sailor Visitors can wear their school uniform (if applicable). Otherwise, we ask for Sunday best attire.

  • What should I bring?

    You don't need to bring anything special other than an openness to immerse yourself in our MDSA community!

  • Is lunch provided?

    Your will receive a complimentary lunch from our cafeteria, the St. Gemma Galley. Gluten free options are available daily. You are welcome to bring your own lunch if you prefer. We will provide a water bottle.

  • Can I request a student hostess?

    Yes, you can request a specific hostess on the registration form. Eighth grade Sailor Visitors are paired with MDSA sophomores. Seventh grade Sailor Visitors are paired with MDSA freshmen. MDSA does its best to accommodate requests but cannot guarantee they can be fulfilled.

  • Are there any activities for parents on a Sailor Visit day?

    Yes, we conduct daily parent tours. After your daughter starts her day with her hostess, parents are invited to stay for an informational walking tour of campus. 

  • Do you provide documentation of the visit for middle schools?

    If your current school requires a signed form for proof that you attended a visit day at Mount de Sales, we will sign them in the afternoon at pick-up.
