Mount de Sales Academy is located in Catonsville, Maryland. The campus occupies 10.3 acres with six distinct campus buildings, three of which have been in use since the school opened in 1852. Visitors to Mount de Sales arrive via a gate house that was constructed prior to the opening of the school. This historic building once served as the convent for the Dominican Sisters who reside on the school grounds. As Mount de Sales Academy has grown, facilities renovations and expansions have been essential in providing necessary resources for our students and community. The main academic building, known as the 1852 Building, is the original building that served the spiritual, academic, and boarding needs of the Visitation Sisters and students starting in 1852. The five story building was built in three phases: the Central Pavilion, containing the Chapel and right-hand wing (1852), the Music Hall (1858) and the Monastery (1883). The Chapel continues to be the spiritual center of the community today and accommodates the entire student body for Mass.
