Road to MDSA

List of 6 items.

1. Inquire

Complete our inquiry form to gain access to the Sailor Portal admissions checklist.
2. Visit

Experience a day as a Sailor and get to know our community.
3. Take the HSPT

All incoming freshman applicants must take the High School Placement Test.
4. Apply & Submit Documents

Complete your MDSA application through the Sailor Portal by December 11, 2026. Transcripts, recommendations, and any scholarship or tuition assistance applications are also due by December 11, 2026.
5. Interview

Every applicant, accompanied by at least one parent/guardian, is required to complete an on-campus, in-person interview. Interviews are scheduled by the MDSA admissions office.
6. Decision Day

Admissions decisions for the Class of 2031 will be sent February 18, 2027.

Required Application Documents for Students in Archdiocese of Baltimore or Washington Schools:
1. Inquiry form
2. MDSA Application
3. High School Placement Test Scores
4. Middle School Transcripts
5. Principal's Archdiocese Recommendation Form (fulfills both recommendation requirements on checklist)
6. Scholarship and/or Financial Aid Applications
Public, Non-Catholic Private, & Homeschool Students

Required Application Documents for Students in Public & Non-Catholic Private Schools & Homeschool Students:
1. Inquiry form
2. MDSA Application
3. High School Placement Test Scores
4. Middle School Transcripts
5. Two Academic Recommendations
6. Scholarship and/or Financial Aid Applications
Sacred Heart Program Applicants

Students applying to MDSA through the Sacred Heart Program need to submit:
1. Inquiry form
2. Full educational-psychological evaluation completed by a licensed/certified professional within three years of applying to MDSA
3. MDSA Application
4. High School Placement Test Scores
5. Middle School Transcripts
6. Recommendation Form(s) - refer to current school type drop down above for recommendation requirements
7. Scholarship and/or Financial Aid Applications
