Graduation Requirements
Mount de Sales Academy requires a minimum of 26 CREDITS for Graduation:
4 | Religion (1 credit per year) |
4 | English (1 credit per year) |
4 | Mathematics (including Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II) (1 Math course every year) |
3 | Social Sciences (including Western Civilization, Government and U.S. History) |
3 | Lab Science (including Biology, Chemistry) |
2 | Foreign Language (2 consecutive years of the same language) |
2 | Philosophy (.5 credit per year) |
1 | Physical Education and Health |
1 | Fine Arts |
2 | Electives minimum |
Additionally, students must also complete the following:

All courses at Mount de Sales are college preparatory and are designed to be academically challenging. The following describes the requirements for Honors and Advanced Placement courses:
Honors courses are offered for students who have a proven record of strong academic achievement and who are willing to accept the challenges presented in a more accelerated course.
Advanced Placement courses are available for those sophomore, junior, and senior students who are willing to embrace a rigorous college level workload and have a proven record of strong academic achievement in Honors level courses.
College Planning
The most competitive college applicants exceed MDSA graduation requirements. They seek to enroll in core courses (English, Math, Science, Social Science, Foreign Language) all four years, pursue several Honors and/or AP courses over high school, and exhibit a strong record of achievement in this challenging curriculum. Most Mount de Sales students earn over 28 credits.
