Sailors’ Choice Award: 2008

The Mount de Sales Academy Athletic Department is proud to recognize the Class of 1958 Intramural Basketball team as the first recipient of the Sailors’ Choice Award. This talented team was undefeated during their four years at Mount de Sales and received the coveted Alumnae Trophy for their success on the court. Without a gym, Mount de Sales Academy athletes played basketball outside on the clay courts. These Alumnae claim that despite the weather, they played and had fun! Twice as freshmen, the Class of 1958 played and upset the Senior Class, then went on to defeat the Juniors and Sophomores. Thus began the Class of 1958’s four year undefeated reign.
