Lisa Banbury ‘95

After scoring 96 points (85 goals, 11 assists) as a junior center, she was asked to become more defensive-minded. Although the move reduced her scoring (45 goals, 17 assists), it elevated her overall game right into the finals of the Association of Independent Schools lacrosse championship game.

Besides Player of the Year honors during her senior year, Lisa was twice named to the Sunpaper All-Metro team and the three times to its All-Baltimore City/County team, as well the AIS First team.

As a junior, she and teammate Amy Buck Donahue '95 (also 2010 MDSA Hall of Fame inductee) were selected as Catonsville Times co-athletes of the year.

On the basketball court she played small forward with “great heart” and often “paid the price to get the ball in the basket” or “take that shot” according to her coach, Bill Held, (2008 MDSA Hall of Fame inductee).

After Mount de Sales Academy she was three year defensive starter at James Madison University and played on the 1997 and 1999 Colonial Athletic Conference tournament championship teams. Lisa also earned JMU’s Unsung Hero Award in ’99.

Lisa currently works for Madison Square Garden in New York managing the Premium Service Department for the NBA Knicks, NHL Rangers, WNBA Liberty, and concerts.
